Contains a special blend of carbon based materials, Nitro-30 SRN from a carbon/nitrogen source, and a concentrated mixture of natural soil microbes. De-Thatcher contains powerful enzymes that break down specific components of thatch and other composting material. The breakdown of thatch is often very difficult because of the high ratio of lignin and cellulose fibers that require microbial activity and an adjustment in the ratio of carbon to nitrogen to convert it to a food source for plants. If anyone of these is missing, thatch formation will increase. The slow release nitrogen in De-Thatcher is a synthetic organic compound - carbon/nitrogen molecule that further discourages the formation of additional thatch that is produced as a result of fast release nitrogen.
